This is what I posted at the realm's forums before we even got started and what will give you a good idea about the way the guild operates. Me and some friends just arrived from Talnivarr with high
hopes up that we'll find a new home here. We decided to try and form a
guild on top of that that you might be interested to join :)
After having raided almost everything in World of Warcraft
(including Vanilla and TBC), sticking mainly with very hardcore guilds
(like TDF, Torment, Do, CNF and Decimation of course - all these back
home) 2 years ago we decided to have a break, mainly because the game
was boring us and another two or three farm runs every week just
wouldn't do. The purple reward from them had reached a point where it
meant nothing to us.
We got together again this year during the summer, in our home town,
and we remembered our best moments, the most memorable ones from World
of Warcraft. We then came to a realisation: None of them, literally
none, rooted in hardcore raids. Instead, the most loving memories of the
game, the ones that we kept with us were from a small guild, Innuendo,
that we once formed. Getting everyone and everything we could together
and holding onto what was trying to bloom, we once formed a pretty solid
raiding team, straight from zero, me, two mages and a warrior, only the
two of us well geared.
Were we irritated to points of no return by various malfunctions in
raids that we had never encountered before? Damn right we were. Were
some of the people we were taking with us in raids pretty skill-less and
-all the worse- not even understanding basic English? You bet they
were. Did we have problems all along that we carried with us? Of course
we did.
But damn it if it wasn't the best night of my gaming life, the night
when Magtheridon slept with the fishes. I've never heard people scream
that loudly in Ventrilo before or ever since. The feeling of having
built something from zero and bringing it to a point where it would make
people happy as parts of a team was moving, take my word for it. Being
someone who had stuck from the start with Innuendo, I wouldn't trade
that one night for all the epics in the world.
Damn it if I don't remember the valuable friends I made while leading this guild up to this day, and I won't ever forget them.
And so we decided to do it again. 2 years of absence from any kind
of gaming have seen their end. We're building something, from zero,
thousands of wipes ahead of us, nerd rages and frustrating moments, let
them come! Want in? You're really, really welcome. Wear a smile on your
face, stack up lots of patience and understand reasonable English.
Nothing else required except one little thing: Your opinion about guild
matters is not optional, it is REQUIRED. You will be made to voice your
opinion sir. We do not operate on a vertical model and our decisions are
not taken by the guild master and the officers. We will be using a
horizontal model, taking into account all of our members' thoughts and
to their best benefit.
Not that I need to say it but we're not going to be hardcore, or
rather we won't be forcing anyone to be hardcore. Join for 1 or 2 raids a
week? Sure you can. Just make sure you are there for the raids you sign
up for.
P.S.: All the above mean no disrespect towards guilds striving to be
the best in the game nor towards their players. I am just sharing a
personal story of how I enjoy World of Warcraft and am inviting those
who see what I see to join us :)
Thank you for your time,
Jante (current in-game name)
